SATCOM Data Scientist - San Diego CA

A² Systems Engineering is searching for a SATCOM Data Scientist professional to support Science and Technology (S&T) efforts associated with the Narrowband Satellite Communications (NBSC) program. S&T efforts include but are not limited to Small Business Innovative Research (SBIRs), Joint Capability Technology

Demonstrations (JCTDs) and other technology which may be applicable to NBSC technical solutions to the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS). MUOS is a United States Space Force (USSF) narrowband military communications satellite system that supports a worldwide, multi-service population of users in the ultra-high frequency (UHF) band.   • Coordinate launch console team training planning and support, and launch integration efforts at the launch base

Qualifications

Required skills:

  • Minimum ten (10) years DoD/IC, or relevant industry work experience on SATCOM
  • Experience with space vehicle’s State of Health Report and evaluation of trend performance, investigation of negative trends, and proposal of mitigating options
  • Experience with engineering support for “big data” analytics to improve operational awareness and efficiency
  • Experience with operational support and sustainment products including On Orbit Handbooks, Operational Perform Files, and IETM procedures Understanding of NBSC operational environment and corresponding mission user needs
  • Knowledge of space launch sustainment activities
  • Experience with Integrated Master Schedules, and risk management
  • Experience with Statements of Work (SOW) and Performance Work Statements (PWS)

Desired skills:

  • Nineteen (19) years of relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in SATCOM/MUOS
  • Advisory and Assistance Service (A&AS) to Government program office
  • Experience with space and/or multi-domain warfighter operations
  • Experience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programs
  • Experience in Space Systems Command (SSC) acquisition
  • Fluency with Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) organizations

Education

Minimum Requirements: 

  • An applicable engineering degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or possess a Professional Engineering license
  • Relevant MA/MS/ME degree

Clearance:

  • Active TOP SECRET clearance with sensitive compartmentalized information (SCI)
  • Candidate must maintain a TS/SCI clearance as a condition of employment

A² Systems Engineering is seeking an experienced Business Development manager to identify and capture new business opportunities across the US Space Force and Department of Defense agencies implementing our growth strategy. The position will support business development efforts from our corporate office in El Segundo, California.

The successful candidate will obtain better company brand recognition and financial growth by developing and maintaining relationships with other companies where we can partner and team for new systems engineering contract opportunities. This work requires knowledge of the primary customer – Defense Department organizations.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Have market knowledge of Defense Department services, agencies, and industry partners performing systems engineering, integration, and technical assistance to DoD, USAF, USSF, etc.
  • Develop and execute planning for high-value opportunities primarily across United States Space Force organizations and the Intelligence Community.
  • Locate and propose potential business partnerships through contacts with relevant companies
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships with other DoD and IC small and large business industry partners and developing strong teaming strategies
  • Participate in the entire business development process from initial identification through proposal submission
  • Plan and participate in capture activities, to include opportunity gate reviews, black hat sessions, collaboration and workshop sessions, and proposal color reviews.
  • Experience integrating company capability information into response documents, including RFI’s, Sources Sought, data calls, and final proposals
  • Ability to flourish with senior management guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty

Job Requirements:

  • Required – 5 to 10+ years of related business development and capture experience working with an array of USAF, USSF, and or other DoD customers.
